WEEK 8 BLOG
Another lovely sunny and warm week. Wednesday was especially hot. For those residents who enjoy the outdoors the garden was the ideal location for them. Others preferred to stay inside in the shade with a nice cool breeze wafting through the conservatory.
Garden games included, quoits and a version of croquet or hit the jack. Residents could join in sitting in wheelchairs or in garden chairs or for those more agile standing up to get a better aim.
We celebrated both a resident and staff member birthday both on the same day so they had a combined celebration and everyone wished them both a happy birthday.
Despite the warm weather several residents enjoyed a couple of film afternoons. Two old classics, Some like it hot and a John Wayne western, True Grit. Tuesday saw us tasting food from Vietnam as part of our weekly ‘Around the World Quiz’. Residents baked cakes and they were served with afternoon tea.
Ladies enjoyed a manicure and a pamper session. Tony offered a morning of gently exercise which several residents and staff joined in.
We were entertained by one of our residents, who is a talented musician.
