WEEK 10 BLOG
This week we had a real mixture of weather conditions. Sunshine and warmth turning to showery and windy weather towards the end of the week. Our activities this week reflected that.
Connect four and quoits in the garden at the beginning of the week with indoor activities later in the week. Tuesday saw us sampling delights from Argentinian cuisine for our taste it Tuesday. We sampled Empanadas (which means wrapped bread). Soft dough pockets stuffed with a variety of meats , Choripan (hot dogs) and Provoleta (grilled cheese). Residents and staff discussed Argentinian culture and history followed by a short quiz. Wednesday we had our monthly Church Service which was held in the front hall and the readings and prayers were overseen by Tony, one of our activities team. Residents found this very comforting. The usual weekly games and musical events were enjoyed and fizzy Friday was followed by a group ‘singalong’ which we all enjoyed. The gardening club is in full swing and lots of vegetables have been planted.
