WEEK 15 BLOG
This week included lots of old favourites, Bingo, Scrabble, Baking, Painting and some routine exercise. The weather was mostly warm and sunny with a few showers thrown in here and there. Some may say a typical British summer! Tuesday with our tour of the world we tasted the delights of some Australian traditional dishes. Residents sampled a typical Australian meat pie. The meat pie is very popular in Australia with different recipes used in different states. This was followed by a dessert known as Lamington which is a sponge cake dipped in chocolate and coated with jam and coconut. This was a great favourite. This was followed by a quiz and some interesting facts about Australian culture and heritage.
Film Afternoon residents chose invited to watch a 1950’s classic, Kind Hearts and Coronets with Alec Guinness and Joan Greenwood, Valerie Hobson and Dennis Price. Soft drinks and popcorn were enjoyed by all.
We celebrated a residents birthday early in the week with a tea party in the garden.
Ladies enjoyed a hand massage and manicures. The week ended with Fizzy Friday where everyone enjoyed a small glass of Pimms with some beers for the gentlemen. Residents joined staff in singing and dancing to some songs that everyone knew.
