WEEK 17 BLOG
This week we have been experiencing some of the hottest temperatures on record. Activities were kept to ones that did not require too much exertion. Staying cool and hydrated was the main priority. That being said the week was busy and crammed full of events. Tuesday with our tour of the world we sampled some Russian delights. Bliny (a type of crepe) with a variety of fillings was very popular. Cold Borscht(Beet based soup) received mixed reviews! This was followed by a quiz and some interesting facts about Russian and some historic characters, like Rasputin.
Film Afternoon residents chose to watch a film from the 1960’s, Alfie featuring Sir Michael Caine. Soft drinks and ice creams were served.
Residents enjoyed collecting apples from the apple tree in the garden and the following day baking apple crumble. (photos on the gallery pages).
Patrycja and Georgia helped residents strip some lavender and lovely lavenders bags were made.
We celebrated a residents birthday at the weekend where we all enjoyed birthday cake.
Ladies enjoyed a hand massage and manicures. The week ended with Fizzy Friday where everyone enjoyed a fruit punch. Residents joined staff in singing whilst Patrycja and Georgia dressed as hula girls and despite the heat were singing and dancing.
